Corduroy Fabric
Corduroy is traditionally a winter fabric due to its warmth, but it can be adapted for other seasons. For cooler weather, thicker, heavier corduroy is used for jackets and structured pants. For warmer weather, lightweight, finely woven corduroy or blends can be made into breathable apparel for spring and summer.
For winter
Heavier corduroy
Thicker fabrics with wider ridges (lower wale count) are used for warm, durable items like pants, coats, and jackets. Insulation: The fabric’s texture traps heat, making it ideal for fighting the chill.
For summer
Lightweight corduroy
Choose fabrics that are finely woven (higher wale count) and made from blends like cotton or linen, which are more breathable.
Apparel
Lightweight corduroy can be made into breathable items like dresses, skirts, and breezy trousers.
